Sound type
Isochronic Tones
How Soundwell creates a regular pulse by changing the level of one tone over time.
Definition#
An isochronic tone is one audible tone that changes level in a regular rhythm. The pulse is part of the generated signal and does not depend on a difference between stereo channels.
How Soundwell generates it#
Soundwell generates a sine tone and changes its level at the selected Pulse Rate.
Smooth uses continuous sine-shaped modulation. Sharp switches the tone on and off. When Sharp is selected, Pulse Width sets how much of each pulse cycle the tone remains on.
Output requirements#
Isochronic tones do not require stereo channel separation. They work through headphones or speakers.
