Sound type

Crackle

How Soundwell synthesizes a crackle texture and the controls that shape its activity and detail.

Definition#

Crackle is a texture of fine cracks, occasional fuller pops, and quiet gaps.

How Soundwell generates it#

Soundwell produces individual crackle events and varies their timing, weight, and grouping. The result can range from sparse isolated details to denser clustered activity.

Crackle has its own enable control and volume. Opening its settings or changing a parameter does not enable it or start playback.

Output requirements#

Crackle works through headphones or speakers and does not require stereo channel separation. Soundwell synthesizes it locally without recordings or a continuous background bed.

Listening notes#

Activity changes how frequently events occur. Body and Brightness shape their weight and tone. Pop Detail introduces fuller events, while Clustering groups activity into busier and quieter periods.
